Both. Units being resold are sanitized in place to NIST SP 800-88 and verified. Retired units have the drive removed and shredded to 2 mm.

What we see with laptops

Some clients pull the drives before the laptops reach us, which is no problem: we record those units as arriving without media so your paperwork matches the hardware.
